The 2012 Meeting of the Society for Research on Biological Rhythms will be held at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida from May 19-23, 2012. This promises to be an exciting meeting, highlighting the breadth of topics that represent key research areas in chronobiology, and providing a unique forum to unite basic and applied circadian research.
Post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend Trainee Professional Development Day before the meeting (on May 19th). This will be an entire day dedicated to scientific and career development activities for trainees.
We have made some significant changes to the on-line submission process that we believe will make this much easier than in the past. We also want to encourage you to renew your SRBR membership before the January 1st deadline so that you can take advantage of reduced registration fees for members.
The preliminary program for the meeting and trainee day will soon be available for viewing on the SRBR web site (www.SRBR.org). The meeting will feature 18 Symposia of invited speakers, 12 slide sessions, and 3 poster sessions. Speakers for the slide sessions will be selected by the Program Committee from submitted abstracts.
Research Merit Awards for trainees will be selected from registered applicants who are the first author on a submitted abstract by the SRBR Awards Committee. To recognize our Research Merit Award recipients, a special notation will be made in the abstract book, and the names of the Awardees will be announced at the banquet. In addition, award recipients will be invited to give a short synopsis of their research at a “Data Blitz” slide session.
